7-8 December

IncluCities Training Academy in Brussels

BRULOCALIS, as the association in charge of two IncluCities partner cities, is organising one of the final IncluCities events - the training academy. The two municipalities involved in IncluCities, the City of Brussels and the Commune of Schaerbeek, are accompanied by the reception offices for newcomers BAPA Brussels and BAPA VIA.

BRULOCALIS is organising "Training Academies IncluCities" to present the results of the cooperation between Brussels and foreign partners from the mentoring point of view (Schaerbeek and the City of Brussels are both mentor cities in IncluCities), as well as mentees, namely the city of Jelgava in Latvia and Saint-Jean-de-La-Ruelle in France.

During the two mornings, they will present to the Brussels public the results of the IncluCities project from the Belgian and foreign partners' perspective, explain the methodology developed during their cooperation, and discuss the crucial issues faced during the implementation of the project.

They will also look at the political aspects of managing the migration movement, present the challenges that foreign and Brussels partners faced at the level of their municipalities (reception of new arrivals) and analyse the situation of newcomers on the Brussels territory.

The European Commission's intervention in the new financial perspectives for the support of migrants in the EU and the continuation of the InlcuCities project is also foreseen in this part of the programme.

The two afternoons will be dedicated to the training part, aimed at employees of the Brussels municipalities (in charge of the reception of migrants) and the Brussels social associative environment:

  • On 7 December, there will be two working tables devoted to socio-professional integration and the problems of migrant/refugee women and to equal opportunities;
  • On 8 December, we will be looking at issues related to access to housing for newcomers and language integration.

The detailed programme can be found below. Please note that the number of people who can participate in the workshops is limited and that places are reserved for Brussels municipalities and associations. Register as soon as possible if you wish to participate and if you meet these criteria.

You can register via this page before Friday, 25 November 2022.

The event will take place at the Manos Conference Center in Brussels.
